Explore Samos your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Samos tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Samos for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Follow your guide on the coastal trail from Potami to the waterfalls and toward Mikro Seitani, learning about the monk seal refuge and where to watch for them from a respectful distance. You can also explore the Nightingales Valley around Manolates for easy birdwatching paths, then cap your tour with snorkelling at Tsamadou Beach or a short boat hop to Samiopoula for clear-water swimming.

Layover tours: With 3-5 hours, your guide can meet you at Samos International Airport, drive you to Pythagoreio to stroll the harbour, tour the Tunnel of Eupalinos, and grab a quick souvlaki or coffee on the quay before returning to the terminal. Docking in Vathy? A short private tour can cover the Archaeological Museum and a swim at nearby Gagou Beach, timed to your boarding window.

History tours: Visit the UNESCO-listed Heraion to see the standing column of Hera’s sanctuary, walk a section of the 6th-century BCE Eupalinos aqueduct, and explore Pythagoreio’s ancient walls and Roman baths with context tailored to your interests. Round it out at the Archaeological Museum in Vathy to view the colossal kouros and other artefacts, plus a stop at Panagia Spiliani Monastery above the town.

Getting around: Town centres like Pythagoreio and Vathy are walkable, and island buses run between major hubs, but service and routes can be limited for tight schedules or remote beaches and mountain trails. For convenience, you can book chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or ask your local guide to arrange a vehicle that fits your group.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Samos inside and out.
